Planning for Professional Growth in an iSeries Environment

This presentation will take place at 7:30 pm.

From legacy System/3X through AS400 to iSeries, the IBM midrange server has always been a popular choice to the hundreds of thousands of companies worldwide. iSeries professionals tend to be very protective and affectionate about their belief that this is still the best computer a business can purchase. This notion is generally accepted by upper management, and although rarely do we see new accounts being established, the large percentage of existing AS400 shops remain faithful, simply because it is so incredibly reliable.

The trend stands locally as many hospitals, insurance companies, banks and midsize manufacturers still utilize iSeries to run their principle applications. How do the latest changes affect the job market in this once very popular segment of Information Technology?
