FAQ of IT Outsourcing: Issues, Benefits, Models and Trends

This presentation will take place at 1:30 in Room # 127.

The decision to outsource can be a challenging one to many executives. The expected advantages of outsourcing include better costs control, accountability and the ability to allocate internal resources to more business critical projects. On the other hand, it is a difficult internal decision to give up local control of the IT department and rely on an external vendor to implement the company’s IT strategy. The following questions arise. Would the outsourcing provider be able to understand the business environment? Would they be able to react quickly to changes in business strategies? Would indirect interaction with the vendor become a time consuming problem? These and other crucial outsourcing issues will be discussed during this highly informative session.

ERP Implementation - Benefits and Challenges

This presentation will take place at 2:30 in Room #127.

Companies have spent large portions of their information systems budget on ERP software and implementation only to realize later that overall business performance did not really improve. Large investments and in many cases a generally negative outcome have created controversy and a higher level of fear within companies considering an ERP implementation. A successful implementation depends on factors other than the software alone. Personnel and organizational issues, change management, process realignment, training, and technical design are keys issues. Successfully addressing the key issues are vital to realizing a positive end to a very complex process.

About the Speaker

Mikhail Roytman, the President of Roytman Information Services, has worked in the industry since 1989. Mikhail has managed and coordinated numerous projects and consulting assignments including a number of successful ERP implementations for various customers of Roytman Information Services, Inc.
